Lawrence Kansas Real Estate

Hey AR community...let's make a website for renters to help them become buyers on www.Renters2Buyers.com

I recently bought the domain name http://www.renters2buyers.com/ and am seeking help from the AR community as to what to put on the website.  Maybe one of the best services Realtors® can provide is helping move renters into becoming buyers.  I've often said, renters are already buyers but they are just buying the property for someone else.

Currently http://www.renters2buyers.com/ points to a blank home page with the AR link.  I want to design a page or pages that renters will find useful to become buyers.  I will then market the page to renters in Lawrence, Kansas to encourage them to make use of the information found there.

If you would like to share in this project and are willing to let me use your ideas on the website, I will update http://www.renters2buyers.com/ so everyone can see the progress on what may be the first real estate blog team inspired and created website.  (Has anyone does this before?)

I'm looking for content helpful to buyers.  I'm looking for layout and color schemes (is someone good at making buttons to go to the different pages??).  I'm looking for something that solicits a response from renters to learn what it takes to move into the world of home ownership.  I'm looking for input from Realtors®, Lenders/Mortgage Specialists, stagers, appraisers, home warranty companies, moving companies, renters, etc.  No one is exempt (with the possible exception of landlords!!  Can you spell sabotage??  It's okay, I'm a landlord too so I can get away with saying that.)

Since this will be a group project, everyone should feel free to use anything we compile in their own website, marketing materials, etc.

We have a blank canvas AR community, except for the AR link that is.  I don't use an editor, just html so don't make things too difficult unless you are going to provide code along with ideas you have.  Here's what there is so far.

<HTML>
<HEAD>
<TITLE>www.Renters2Buyers.com</TITLE>
</HEAD>
<BODY>
<A href="http://activerain.com"> <img src="http://activerain.com/images/linking/ARLogo.gif" alt="Real estate agent network."/> </A>
</BODY>
</HTML>

If the code above doesn't mean anything to you, the results can be seen now and as they are updated on http://www.renters2buyers.com/.  A big thank you in advance for all your ideas, code, graphics, feedback, etc.  If you don't see your idea incorporated or your color scheme used, it doesn't mean it wasn't a good choice but that I can only do one thing at a time and will listen to AR feedback as to whether it stays or not.  Ready to have some fun??

Thanks!

 Hi Rob, great domain name! If you need help with graphics, you can contact me thru my AR page. You can also see a sample of my graphics work in a new wallpaper I did recently to promote Active Rain(more coming soon) or check out my website. I'd be happy to help out.

Thanks Marti for your offer to help.  That was very nice work that you did on your wallpaper.

Sounds like a great idea.  I'm afraid I won't be much help to you though as I'm not very good yet at this stuff.  Maybe when I get my training wheels off of my blogcycle.

Sounds like a great idea to me.  One big thing that I can think of is talk about buying a home being an investment that you can make money on as well as that renting is buying the house for someone else.

Hi Rob - it's interesting that you are searching for help, since that's what I now  do for a living, but more importantly, it's become what I love to do!  If you want some help building your website, I would suggest starting with Point2Agent - it's got a great free "standard" program that will get you up and running.  I can help you with the navigation buttons, content, etc.  See my website to contact me and to see samples and testimonials - I'll be happy to help - http://www.ddatasolutions.com

Deb   Thanks for your feedback.  My son and I are both professional web designers and can do the work ourselves.  My intent at asking for help was to have an AR group project that would put together a template that everyone could use in their own market and develop AR community relationships between the participants.  But only one person has volunteered some graphics so I will probably do this site myself or ask my son to do it.  Yes Point2Agent is one of dozens of websites I already make use of for my listings.  Thanks again for your comment.

Update: http://www.renters2buyers.com/ is up and running privately rather than collectively as an AR group.  Please feel free to use the ideas given there and give any feedback about the site.
