Lawrence, KS has many great hiking trails. There are many marked ones at Clinton Lake with different levels of difficulty. There are also many paved sidewalks through the city that allow walkers to take long walks or bike rides to other areas of the city. One of my favorite Lawrence, KS trails is the one on the north side of the Kansas River. You have to go north over the bridge by Massachussetts St. and 6th St, then you follow the river and walk on the river levee as far as you want to go. I think the trail is actually about 8 miles long, but I have never made it that far. There is a trail on the south side of the river also, but it is more wooded. I prefer the north side.
