There are two really nice playgrounds by the intersection of Monterey Way and Harvard St. in Lawrence, KS. The one on Monterey Way between Harvard St and Tiffany Dr has really nice tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, a playground area with three slides and several monkey bars, a picnic shelter, water fountains, and bathrooms. The other playground is off of Harvard St. From Monterey Way, drive about a half block east on Harvard and you will see another playground. It has a picnic shelter, a climbing wall, swings, and some other interesting playground equipment that I hadn't seen before. There was a rather artistic climbing wall, a wobbly caterpillar to balance on, a rubber circle in the air to walk on with handles to grab, and two large upside down J's that you could grab onto a wheel and spin yourself dizzy on. The playground on Harvard was only a half block from the playground on Monterey Way, but it was much more interesting, and would be a fun place to take younger children. The names of these parks are Dad Perry Parks.
